Coming Soon: The Flashback/Backslide Pixar Blogathon

Pixar Background (2)Welcome back everyone! It’s time for another Flashback/Backslide blogathon. With last week’s release of Inside Out and the upcoming debut of Good Dinosaur, Lauren and I decided to take a look back at all the great films from Pixar. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost twenty years since the studio released Toy Story, the world’s first fully animated film. Since then they’ve collected 12 Academy Awards and $8.6 billion in worldwide box office revenues. Seven Pixar films won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film (Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, Toy Story 3, and Brave), and two were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture (Up and Toy Story 3). For reference, only one other animated film (Beauty and the Beast) has ever been nominated for Best Picture.

Over the next few months we’ll roll out reviews of each Pixar film starting with Toy Story and wrapping up with Monster’s University. In the meantime check out our review of Inside Out which may be one of Pixar’s best. Lauren and I will be reviewing each of the films on our own this time around. We will probably start another blogathon later in the year where we will invite other writers to join in and review films from whatever series we end up choosing. We hope you like our Pixar reviews!

As always, thanks for reading!

Damien from Flashback/Backslide
