Brief Synopsis – A group of inter-galactic criminals band together to try and save the galaxy from a menacing threat.
My Take on it – I really can’t recall the last time that I was so enthralled by a movie where I immediately had the urge to rewatch it as soon as the credits began to role.
That is definitely a rare feeling for me lately and is a very welcomed feeling.
This being my third time watching this movie, I still feel that there is so much to absorb and I have plans to keep rewatching it over and over because it really IS that great.
As I’ve stated before, despite knowing a lot about superheroes and comics, I had never been introduced to these characters before seeing this movie and I truly feel that they gave us the perfect introduction to this series.
The music works so well on numerous levels. It gives of a nostalgic feeling of a child of the 70’s and 80’s trying to keep hold of his past but at the same time it adds to the modern feeling of the otherworldly storyline.
The film makers also were able to create a magical world reminiscent of other foreign space locations like from the Star Wars series.
This is my one regret of a movie that I missed in the theater in 2014.
Can’t wait to see what they have in store for us in future installments and how they will tie this into the whole Marvel series!
Bottom Line – Excellent introduction for us into the world of the GOTG. Amazing soundtrack gives us a very nostalgic feeling to the movie despite it being ‘modern’. The otherworldly feeling works so well and is reminiscent of the magical worlds created for movies like Star Wars. Once again I can’t wait to see this yet again. Highly recommended!
